OYO, a global travel-tech leader, has appointed Sonal Sinha as the Chief Executive Officer of G6 Hospitality, a leading motel chain in North America. This announcement follows OYO’s acquisition of G6 Hospitality from Blackstone Real Estate, a deal finalized in December last year.
The acquisition adds 1,500 franchised properties across the U.S. and Canada to OYO’s growing portfolio, reinforcing its market position in North America. The combined operations of OYO and G6 Hospitality are expected to achieve a Gross Booking Value (GBV) of $3 billion, with G6 Hospitality contributing $1.7 billion. This integration is set to unlock new synergies and accelerate OYO’s international expansion.
Sinha, who joined OYO in 2015, has played a crucial role in shaping its international business. As the Chief Financial Officer – International Business, he spearheaded strategic initiatives that improved business margins, strengthened financial frameworks, and enhanced operational efficiency. His expertise in tax, accounting, and reconciliation has been instrumental in ensuring OYO’s compliance across global markets.
In his new role, Sinha will report to Gautam Swaroop, CEO – International at OYO. This leadership transition underscores OYO’s vision for global expansion, focusing on market adaptability and sustainable growth.
Commenting on the appointment, Ritesh Agarwal, OYO’s Founder and Group CEO, stated:
"Sonal has been a driving force behind OYO’s international success. His deep understanding of our business and proven track record make him the ideal leader to take G6 Hospitality forward and strengthen OYO’s global presence."
The integration of Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands under G6 Hospitality with OYO’s tech-driven model aims to enhance guest experiences and empower hotel owners. By leveraging OYO’s advanced technology and G6’s market expertise, the company seeks to create a compelling value proposition for travelers and franchise partners alike.
Under Sinha’s leadership, OYO is set to drive innovation, operational excellence, and strategic expansion in the competitive hospitality sector. This move reflects OYO’s long-term mission to merge technology with business efficiency, ensuring sustainable growth across global markets.
