Kerala is gearing up to revolutionize its transportation sector by introducing its first hydrogen-powered bus. This groundbreaking project is the result of a collaboration between a major energy corporation and a globally recognized solar-powered airport. The prototype of the hydrogen-fueled bus was unveiled during a global summit on hydrogen and renewable energy held in Kochi. This marks a significant step forward as the state works on completing its first green hydrogen production and refueling facility, located near the airport. Construction is in its final stages, with the facility expected to be fully operational within two months.

The hydrogen bus has been developed through a partnership with a Pune-based technology firm, and its initial operations will focus on airport connectivity and internal transit.
